Guest House and Hotel Association Karachi President Tahir Auriazai, along with Vice President Shah Saud and General Secretary Agha Abdul Rahim, met Sindh Additional Inspector General of Police Muzaffar Sheikh at his office to discuss several important issues related to hotels and guest houses, stated a press release.

The delegation expressed concern over the “unjustified” raids by the police and the filing of “false” FIRs against owners and staff of guest houses and hotels. The delegation also detailed the losses incurred due to “unnecessary” actions by lower-ranking police officers and the “disrespectful” treatment of honourable guests.

Auriazai clarified that hotels and guest houses in Karachi fully cooperate with law enforcement agencies, as all hotels and guest houses use the Hotel Eye software installed by the Sindh police, through which all details of domestic and foreign guests are immediately transmitted to the relevant police station and the Central Police Office.

Complaining about “unnecessary” raids by the police, he said that these actions are not only harming businesses but also negatively impacting the national economy. He requested Sheikh to order an inquiry into these issues to prevent such actions in future.

The delegation said that during the International Defence Exhibition and Seminar, hotels and guest houses fully cooperated with the police by adhering to the order of not to accommodate foreign guests.

Now that the event has concluded peacefully and successfully, they requested leniency in the policy considering the hoteliers’ difficulties. Sheikh assured the delegation that their issues would be resolved.
