LAHORE:The district administration has not been paying any heed to the issues being highlighted by the general public on their digital media platforms about the price and overcharging and Qeemat Punjab App issue while putting the people at the mercy of the sellers.
This attitude of the administration encourages the sellers to open violation of the rate list and overcharging, besides sale of the substandard items at A-grade price while the people are compelled to pay the higher rates.
This also exposes the weak and poor governance of the government towards the basic public issues. This week mainly increasing trend in the prices of the perishable was recorded as majority of vegetables rates increased, alongside open overcharging by the sellers.
This week price of chicken declined by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs284-298 per kg, sold at Rs400-430 per kg and chicken meat by Rs29 per kg, fixed at Rs432 per kg, and sold at Rs480-800 per kg.
The price of potato soft skin A-grade was further reduced by Rs2 per kg, fixed at Rs83-88 per kg, sold at Rs130-150 per kg, B-grade at Rs75-80 per kg and C-grade at Rs65-70 per kg, mixed sold at Rs100-120 per kg.
The price of onion A-grade reduced by Rs3 per kg, fixed at Rs127-135 per kg, sold at Rs180-200 per kg, B-grade at Rs118-125 per kg, and C-grade at Rs105-110 per kg, mixed sold at Rs140-150 per kg.
The price of tomato A-grade increased by Rs44 per kg, fixed at Rs143-150 per kg, sold at Rs250 per kg, B-grade fixed at Rs123-130 per kg, and C-grade at Rs110-115 kg, mixed sold at Rs180-200 per kg.
The price of garlic local further increased by Rs40 per kg, fixed at Rs550-570 per kg, sold at Rs800 per kg, Garlic GI variety by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs330-345 per kg, sold at Rs400-450 per kg and Garlic China reduced by Rs35 per kg, fixed at Rs575-595 per kg, sold at Rs800-1,000 per kg.
The price of both Ginger Thai and Chinese was further reduced by Rs40 per kg, fixed at Rs335-350 per kg, both sold at Rs450-600 per kg. Cucumber Farm increased by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs37-40 per kg, sold at Rs80-100 per kg, and cucumber local unchanged at Rs57-60 per kg, not sold. Brinjal price was gained by Rs20 per kg, unchanged at Rs57-60 per kg, sold at Rs100-120 per kg.
Bitter gourd declined by Rs25 per kg, fixed at Rs90-95 per kg, sold at Rs150-200 per kg. The price of Spinach further reduced by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs23-25 at Rs60-80 per kg. The lemon Chinese unchanged at Rs55-60 per kg, sold at Rs150-200 per kg. Price of cauliflower gained by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs72-75 per kg, sold at Rs100-140 per kg, cabbage reduced by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs37-40 per kg, sold at Rs100-120 per kg. Ladyfinger reduced by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs85-90 per kg, not sold. Turnip was further reduced by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs28-30 per kg, sold at Rs80-100 per kg.
Fenugreek (Methi) price increased by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs47-50 per kg, sold at Rs80-100 per kg. Pea price increased by Rs30 per kg, fixed at Rs190-200 per kg, sold at Rs250-300 per kg. Beetroot was sold at Rs200 per kg. Coriander was sold at Rs30 per bundle. Beans price fixed at Rs40-85 per kg, sold at Rs300-400 per kg.
Radish price fixed at Rs22-24 per kg, sold at Rs30-50 per kg. Mustard leaves price remained unchanged at Rs47-50 per kg, sold at Rs60-80 per kg.
The price of different variety of apples fixed at Rs100-240 per kg, sold at Rs150-450 per kg. The price of Banana A-category unchanged at Rs125-130 per dozen, sold at Rs160-180 per dozen, and B-category fixed at Rs76-80 per dozen, sold at Rs130-140 per dozen, and C-category at Rs57-60 per dozen, sold at Rs100-120 per dozen.
Pomegranate danaydar increased by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs350-365 per kg, sold at Rs450-500 per kg, pomegranate kandahari price increased by Rs30 per kg, fixed at Rs210-330 per kg, sold at Rs280-450, pomegranate Bedana declined by Rs25 per kg, fixed at Rs505-525 per kg, sold at Rs800-1000 per kg.
Guava price increased by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs85-115 per kg, sold at Rs120-150 per kg. Musami was gained by Rs5 per dozen, fixed at Rs85-125 per dozen, sold at Rs150-180 per dozen.
Citrus fruit price remained unchanged at Rs60-150 per dozen, sold at Rs200-250 per dozen. Fruiter price reduced by Rs15 per dozen, fixed at Rs60-145 per dozen, sold at Rs150-300 per dozen.
