Fear and anxiety have taken over the once peaceful neighbourhood of I-14, Islamabad as a result of a recent spike in violent crime. A series of robberies and other street crimes have plagued the area in recent months. The rising crime rate has made people fearful, especially students who attend local colleges and institutions. Hostel residents also feel insecure since aggressive criminals frequently target them.
At risk is our community’s safety and security. We ask that the local authorities take immediate action to address this pressing issue. Installing CCTV cameras, stepping up police patrols, and improving street lighting are all essential to deter crime. We implore those in charge to prioritise the protection of residents and act quickly to bring safety back to our community.
