KARACHI: Pakistan’s Harmas Ali, Mamoon Khan, Azan Khalil, and Umair Arif moved into the third round at the U.S. Junior Open Squash Championships in the United States on Sunday.
In the under-11 category, top seed Harmas Ali defeated Aarav Desai from the US 11-1, 11-4, 11-0 in the second round. In the under-15 category, Mamoon Khan beat Kabir Malhotra from the US 11-6, 11-4, 14-12 in the second round.
In the under-17 category, Azan Khalil overpowered Christian Keng from the US 11-6, 9-11, 11-6, 11-6 and Umair Arif won against Eric Zhang from the US 11-7, 11-6, 11-5 in the second round.
However, Saifullah Bahadur lost to Jacob Price from the US 4-11, 9-11, 4-11 in the first round and Yahan Khan was beaten by Ronnie Hickling 7-11, 11-4, 5-11, 5-11 in the second round. Ibrahim Zeb lost to Omar T Dweek from Canada 11-7, 5-11, 8-11, 3-11 in the first round and Rayyan Khan was overpowered by Winn Metrailler from the US 7-11, 14-12, 11-6, 6-11, 10-12 in the second round.
In the under-19 category, Shayan Ali lost to Albert Yao from the US 6-11, 7-11, 9-11 in the first round and Azan Khalil was thrashed by Ramiro Albelo from 5-11, 3-11, 1-11 in the second round. Saboor Khan was overpowered by Devon Li from the US 6-11, 11-9, 2-11, 4-11 in the second round.
