NOWSHERA: Member Provincial Assembly and Chairman District Development and Advisory Committee (DDAC) Zar Alam Khan said on Sunday that Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur had initiated a robust programme to eradicate polio and other deadly diseases from the province.
Speaking as chief guest at a ceremony for the best polio worker award was held under the auspices of Rotary International and the inauguration ceremony of the polio campaign in Bara Banda near here, he said that the people of the province and provincial government would jointly undertake this mission to protect the new generation from crippling diseases.
WHO’s Dr Majid, National EOC’s Dr Nazir, Dr Shafiq, and YCP District Coordinator Zubair Ali Shah Roghani also spoke on the occasion.Zar Alam praised the significant role of frontline polio workers in eradicating polio. He urged everyone to play their part in completely eradicating polio from the province.
He stressed the need for strengthening routine immunisation programmes to protect children from 12 dangerous diseases.The lawmaker also appreciated the efforts of Tayyaba Gul, CEO of YCP, for providing essential healthcare facilities in this underprivileged area and commended her services.In her absence, YCP’s Zubair Ali conveyed her message to the polio workers, reaffirming their commitment to the complete eradication of polio.
