HYDERABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Cybercrime Centre Hyderabad has registered an FIR on the complaint of a woman against a suspect for blackmailing and harassing her using obscene pictures of the complainant with her husband that were leaked during the repair of her mobile phone.
The complainant said the suspect had been demanding Rs2 million for deleting the private photos.
During the course of the inquiry, the record and documentary evidence were collected from the quarters concerned.
On Friday, a raid was conducted at a hotel where the suspect, Zainul Abideen Shah, was arrested and his digital equipment seized.
When his mobile phone was analysed, it was found that obscene pictures of the complainant were transmitted through his social media. An obscene video was found in hidden folders of the phone.
An FIA cybercrime wing source told the The News that the complainant and the suspect belonged to Badin district.
