Rawalpindi : Rawalpindi City Traffic Police Rawalpindi has issued 2,704 challan tickets in a day for violation of different traffic rules.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rawalpindi Beenish Fatima said that that 4,446 citizens were also extended facilities regarding driving licences and other related matters.
Giving further details, she said that 70 challan tickets were issued for violation of traffic signals, 561 commuters were challaned for not possessing driving licences, 215 smoke emitting vehicles were challaned while 148 under age drivers were also fined. More, 279 motorcyclists were caught without helmets while 646 drivers were issued tickets for driving vehicles not having proper number plates.
She said that the traffic police have also made special arrangements to ensure smooth flow of traffic in downtown business areas like Raja Bazar, Gawalmandi, Liaquat Road and adjoining roads.
