The growing hazard of cyberbullying among teenagers has become a thorn in our society’s side. With the rise of social media, many young individuals are caught between a rock and a hard place, struggling with harassment in the digital world. This problem is no storm in a teacup. Victims of cyberbullying often suffer from anxiety, depression and isolation.
To stop this behaviour, schools must incorporate digital etiquettes and cyber safety lessons into their curriculum. Parents must not be asleep at the wheel too and must instead monitor their children’s online behaviour and foster open communication. It is high time we joined forces to create a safer digital space for teenagers. The future of our youth is at stake.
