This refers to the letter ‘Powered off’ (December 11, 2024) by Ijlal Haider. I am deeply saddened by the adverse situation the people of Skardu are facing due to the power shortage. I feel guilty since those living in the posh localities are endowed with all the amenities while our compatriots in remote areas have to survive without power for long hours.
Is it not somewhat grievous that we have become un-empathetic and insensitive towards the plight of the voiceless and marginalised? There is an urgent need to address the plight of the inhabitants of Skardu.
