LAHORE: Pakistan’s Olympic gold medallist Arshad Nadeem has resumed training with ambitious plans for 2025.
The javelin thrower, who clinched gold at the Paris Olympics 2024, was seen training at the Punjab Stadium under the guidance of his coach, Salman Iqbal Butt. Speaking to media during his training session, the 27-year-old athlete expressed his determination to achieve new milestones in the coming year.
“After winning gold in 2024, my aim is to secure even more titles in 2025. I’ve already resumed training following a four-month break, focusing on fitness to ensure I’m prepared for the challenges ahead,” said Arshad.
Arshad outlined a comprehensive training schedule that prioritises fitness before transitioning into rigorous practice sessions. The javelin star has a packed schedule for 2025, with key events including Asian Athletics Championship, Diamond League and the World Athletics Championship.
“I am preparing thoroughly for these competitions. My goal is not just to participate but to excel and bring glory to Pakistan,” Arshad shared. Reflecting on his historic Olympic triumph, Arshad credited his success to hard work and the nation’s prayers.
Coach Salman Iqbal Butt highlighted the structured approach to Arshad’s preparation. “We are currently focusing on conditioning and strengthening muscles to prepare Arshad’s body for the rigorous practice ahead. Once this phase is complete, we will transition to javelin throw-specific training to further refine his skills,” the coach explained.
