JCP members send names for IHC, LHC, additional judges
IBC representative nominates Advocate Syed Qamar Hussain, Inam Amin and Osman Ghani Rashid
ISLAMABAD: The Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) members have sent the names for appointment of additional judges to vacant seats in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) and Lahore High Court (LHC).
A JCP meeting is scheduled to be held on December 21 to be presided over by Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi, the chairman of the commission.
It was learnt IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq has nominated two district and sessions judges — Azam Khan and Shahrukh Arjamund -- as additional judges while Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and JCP member Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has nominated Kashif Ali Malik, advocate, for the post. Likewise, the Islamabad Bar Council representative has nominated Advocate Syed Qamar Hussain Shah Sabzwari, Inam Amin Minhas and Osman Ghani Rashid Cheema.
Similarly, JCP woman member Roshan Khursheed Bharucha has nominated Additional Sessions Judge Humayun Dilawar, and Senator Farooq H Naek nominated the names of Advocate Qamar Hussain Sabzwari, Umar Aslam Khan, Daniyal Ejaz and Kashif Ali.
Meanwhile, Lahore High Court Chief Justice Aalia Neelum has sent the names of 21 lawyers -- Muhammad Siddique Awan, Iqbal Ahmad Khan, Asif Saeed Rana, Ajmal Zahid, Abdul Basit Khan Baloch, Hassan Nawaz Makhdoom, Amir Anjam Malik, Shireen Imran, Malik Waqar Haider, Asad Mahmood Abbasi, Muhammad Amjad Parvez, Shahzad Mahmood Butt, Ahsan Raza Kazmi, Khalid Ibn Aziz, Muhammad Jawad Zafar, Khalid Ishaq, Malik Muhammad Owais Khalid, Chaudhry Sultan Mahmood, Haris Azmat, Haroon Dagal and Shehryar Tariq.
Likewise, Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah has sent 11 names, including three district and sessions judges, Qaiser Nazir Butt, Mohammad Akmal Khan and Jazeela Aslam.
Justice Mansoor also sent the name of lawyers including Haider Rasool Mirza, Manoorul Salam, Khalid Ishaq, Rafia Zeeshan Javed Altaf, Barrister Qasim Ali Chauhan, Syed Shahab Qutb, Asma Hamid and Samia Khalid Mehmood.
Similarly, PTI’s Senator and JCP member Ali Zafar has sent the names of three lawyers -- Muhammad Saqib Jilani, Barrister Qadir Bakhsh and Hamza Ejaz Zaman.
Farooq H Naek has also sent eight names -- Malik Javed Iqbal, Haseeb Shakoor Paracha, Mujeebur Rahman Kayani, Ejaz, Saqib Jilani, Ayyan Tariq Butt, Nawazish Pirzada and Sabahat Rizvi.
