A five-year-old boy died and six other family members were found unconscious in their home in Defence Housing Authority (DHA) on Thursday.

The incident took place at a residence on Khayaban-e-Sehar, where the body of the boy, identified as Moinuddin, was discovered, along with the unconscious condition of six other family members. According to police, the affected family included Dr Ziauddin Sheikh, the director of a private hospital, his wife, and their four surviving children: Jannat, 8, Zara, 16, Zohaib, 13, and Shahzain, 11. They were all critically ill and were rushed to a private hospital in Clifton for medical treatment.

The police suspected that the incident occurred after fumigation was carried out at the family’s home, and the incident happened while the family was asleep. The victims were initially taken to Sir Syed Hospital and later transferred to South City Hospital before being moved to Aga Khan Hospital for further treatment. The police have launched an investigation into the incident, and further details are awaited.
