ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will chair the meeting of High-Powered Selection Board (HPSB) next week for promotion of officers from Grade-21 to 22.
Sources said the Establishment Division has requested the PM Office that since the Central Selection Board (CSB) meeting is starting from December 23, the HPSB meeting is necessary before the CSB meeting so that more posts of Grade-21 become available. In the CSB meeting, officers of Grade-19 and 20 will be promoted to the next grade.
The HPSB meeting will approve the promotion of more than 40 officers of Grade-21 of various service groups to Grade-22. In this way, more than 40 posts of Grade-21 will become available for promotion.
Sources said though Prime Minister’s Office has not yet given the date of the meeting in writing to the Establishment Division, it is likely the HPSB meeting will be held on December 16 or 17.
The last meeting of HPSB was held in February 2023, while the meeting of Central Selection Board was called in August last year. More than 700 officers will be promoted to Grade-20 and 21 in the Central Selection Board meeting.
