ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Wednesday reiterated the government’s commitment to implement reforms agenda for good governance across all sectors.
He was talking to newly appointed experts on governance improvement, who called on him here. Shehbaz said digitization, automation and enhanced decision-making processes were pillars of progress and prosperity in the modern world.
The PM stressed that appointment of experts would improve decision-making process and contribute to more effective governance. He said their input and critical reviews on decisions of important public interest would result in far-reaching positive outcomes. He expressed the confidence that the government would benefit from expertise of individuals, who had made invaluable contributions in their respective fields.
Shehbaz told experts they all carry the significant responsibility of contributing expert opinions and constructive thinking to the decision-making process of national affairs. He expressed the hope that the experts would perform their duties with utmost excellence.
The prime minister was briefed that the experts would provide the government with specialised and critical advice in their respective areas, aiding in more informed decisions across various sectors. The newly appointed officers were introduced and briefed about their respective responsibilities. The meeting was attended by Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema and other senior officials.
Separately, PM Shehbaz Sharif said the development of Balochistan province and welfare of its residents was top priority and every possible effort was being made to provide employment opportunities to its youth. He held meetings with Balochistan Governor Jaffar Khan Mandokhel and PMLN Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) President Shah Ghulam Qadir, the PM Office Media Wing said in a press release. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and others. During the meeting, matters related to the Balochistan province were discussed. The governor thanked the prime minister for taking special interest in the development projects of the province. PMLN AJK President Ghulam Qadir also expressed gratitude to the prime minister for providing a Rs23 billion package to address the energy issues of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Also, PM Shehbaz Sharif Wednesday, while conveying his warm wishes to Chief Adviser of Interim Bangladesh government Dr Muhammad Yunus, underscored that the existing goodwill between Pakistan and Bangladesh needed to be translated into tangible cooperation. He made these remarks while appreciating the remarkable contributions made by the outgoing Bangladeshi High Commissioner Muhammad Ruhul Alam Siddique for promotion of Pakistan-Bangladesh relations, a PM Office news release said. The Bangladeshi outgoing HC paid a farewell call on the prime minister, who is returning to Bangladesh after completing his four-year tenure in Pakistan. PM Shehbaz Sharif stressed that Pakistan greatly valued its relations with Bangladesh, which were rooted in shared history, common faith and cultural similarities. Meanwhile, PM Shehbaz Sharif Wednesday extended his ‘heartfelt wishes’ for a swift and full recovery to President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva of Brazil, after he underwent brain surgery. “Sending my heartfelt wishes for a swift and full recovery to President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva as he recovers from surgery,” the PM wrote on his X timeline. Also, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday visited Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq’s residence to condole his sister’s demise. The prime minister was accompanied by Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema and Advisor to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah. He offered fateha for the departed soul.
