Three drug peddlers jailed
Islamabad:The Special Anti-Narcotics Court, Judge Raja Jawad Abbas Hassan sentenced a three-member gang, including a husband and wife, imprisonment and a fine of Rs1.2 million.
During the hearing, Prosecutor Fahad Malik, while giving arguments, said that the Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) had recovered 71.5 kg of opium from Mubashir Hussain, Rehman Iqbal and Zahida Parveen last year on the spot. The vehicle in which the gang was smuggling drugs was also seized. The laboratory report also came positive and the accused admitted to smuggling drugs. After the arguments of the parties were completed, the court sentenced Mubashir Hussain to 20 years in prison and a fine of Rs800,000, Rehman Iqbal to 9 years in prison and a fine of Rs100,000. The court has sentenced Zahida Parveen to 12 years in prison and a fine of Rs300,000.
