ISLAMABAD: An anti terrorism court on Tuesday rejected the police’s plea for an extension of the physical remand of 146 suspects arrested following the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) protest at D Chowk.
During the hearing, the police presented the suspects, who had already been under a 10 day physical remand. The prosecution claimed the individ als were involved in violent activities during the protest and sought an extension of their remand. However, the court denied the request and placed the accused under judicial remand, directing the jail authorities to take custody. The court also advised the defence lawyers to file bail applications on behalf of the arrested individuals if desired.
