PPP, PMLN committees meet today to sort out issues
Bilawal chairs virtual meeting with focus on those issues which have to be taken in meeting with PML-N
ISLAMABAD: The Political Coordination Committee of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and the government committee are expected to meet today (Monday) to take up the issues related to both the parties. The PPP and the government formed the committees after PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari expressed his disappointment and conveyed serious reservations to the PMLN for ignoring the PPP in consultations and over broken promises despite being a coalition partner of the Shehbaz Sharif government.
In this regard, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari chaired a virtual meeting of PPP’s Political Coordination Committee on Sunday with focus on those issues which have to be taken in the meeting with the PMLN.
The virtual meeting also discussed the current political situation of the country. The meeting was attended by former prime minister Raja Pervez Ashraf, parliamentary leader of the PPP in the Senate Senator Sherry Rehman, President PPP South Punjab Makhdoom Ahmed Mahmood, Syed Naveed Qamar, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi, Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti and Ali Haider Gilani.
Last week, Bilawal and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar held a meeting in which it was decided that the committees of PPP and PMLN will meet soon to sort out the conflicting issues between the coalition partners.
It may be mentioned here that Bilawal has formed a committee to raise issues with the federal government and the committee comprises Raja Pervez Ashraf, Syed Naveed Qamar, Senator Sherry Rehman, Sindh CM Syed Murad Ali Shah, Balochistan CM Mir Sarfraz Bugti, Makhdoom Ahmed Mahmoud, Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider, KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi and Haider Gilani. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has also constituted a committee to resolve the issues between the PPP and PMLN and to foster cooperation on political and other matters. The committee members include Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Minister for Law Azam Nazeer Tarar, Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema, Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan Engineer Amir Muqam, Advisor to Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah, Speaker Punjab Assembly Malik Ahmad Khan, Senior Punjab Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, PMLN leaders Khawaja Saad Rafique, Jaffar Khan Mandokhail and Bashir Ahmed Memon.
