Two-day Bajaur Festival to kick off from 14th
PESHAWAR: Advisor to the Chief Minister on Tourism, Culture, Archaeology and Museums Zahid Chanzeb said on Sunday that the government was set to initiate tourism and cultural events in the merged districts to engage the youth in healthy activities.
“Promoting tourism in these districts and sending a positive message of peace to the world is one of the top priorities,” he said, adding that a two-day festival would be organised at the Bajaur Sports Complex in Khar to promote tourism and culture in the district. He said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority (KPCTA), the Tourism Authority’s Merged Districts Wing, the district administration and Bajaur Scouts would jointly organise the event.
Chanzeb said that the festival would showcase activities such as a cycling race, martial art competitions and kabaddi and schoolchildren’s tableaus. There would be a play land area for the children besides comedy skits, poetry recitals, traditional Attanr dance performances, musical evenings and food stalls.
The purpose of organising the Bajaur Festival is to promote sports and healthy activities in the merged districts, boost tourism, engage the youth in productive activities and send a positive message to the world from the province.
