Domestic worker tortured by employer; suspect arrested

LAHORE : A 12-year-old domestic worker was allegedly tortured by his employer in the North Cantt area.

The victim, identified as Ali Sarwar, was reportedly abandoned far from his employer's home after his condition deteriorated due to the alleged abuse. Locals found the boy in a distressed state and alerted the police.

Patrolling officers responded to the scene and shifted the victim to hospital.

Police officials stated that the extent of the injuries and nature of the torture would be determined following a medical examination. Acting on a complaint received via the 15 helpline, North Cantt police arrested the employer, identified as Talha Abbas. A case has been registered against the accused.

11 women among 18 arrested from hotel

Gulberg Police raided a brothel operating under the guise of a hotel and arrested 18 individuals, including 11 women, for allegedly engaging in immoral activities. The raid was carried out following a tip-off regarding illicit activities in the hotel. Among those arrested were Saqlain, Imran, Jamshed, Wasif, Sidra, Saadia, Masooma, Shayan, Fauzia, Maryam, Tanveer, Nargis, Rafia, Sonia, Yasmin, Kanwal, and Shahzadi. According to police, the primary accused, Zohaib, had been running the brothel under the pretense of managing a hotel.

Two injured in cylinder blast

Two individuals sustained injuries following a cylinder explosion in the kitchen of a bakery located in Wapda Town.

Rescue teams arrived at the scene after the incident was reported.

They managed to control the fire and provided immediate assistance. The injured were transported to hospital.

Biker dies due to over-speeding

A 17-year-old motorcyclist lost his life due to over-speeding near Muhammad Ali Chowk, Township police area on Sunday.

According to initial reports, the accident occurred due to over-speeding, causing the motorcycle to skid. The rider, identified as Salman Arif, fell onto the road and died on the spot. Edhi Foundation volunteers transported the body to the morgue.
