CHARSADDA: Bushra Bibi, the wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder, said on Friday that she was abandoned by party leaders during the Islamabad protest at D-Chowk.

Speaking during a visit to the family of Tajuddin, a PTI worker who was allegedly killed during the protest, she expressed her commitment to standing firm under her husband’s instructions.

“I am not a woman who runs away. Party leaders left me alone at D-Chowk, but I wasn’t going to leave without Imran Khan’s orders,” she said while addressing party workers and the family of Tajuddin at Khan Mahi area in Charsadda.

Bushra Bibi claimed her car came under fire during the operation to clear D-Chowk. “Nobody knew which car I was in. During the operation at midnight, I remained alone in my car. They tried to evacuate the area, but I did not leave because Imran Khan didn’t tell me to,” she added.

She criticized those who, in her view, lied about the events of the protest and expressed her deep pain over the deaths of PTI workers. “All workers sacrificed their lives for Imran Khan’s mission,” she said.

During the visit, Bushra Bibi handed over cheques worth Rs10 million each to the families of Tajuddin and another PTI worker, Muhammad Ali. She also announced the establishment of a girls’ high school in Khan Mahi area in Tajuddin’s name.

PTI MNA Faisal Amin Gandapur, who was also present, condemned the federal government, accusing it of firing directly at peaceful protesters. Speaking to the media, he said, “The sacrifices of PTI workers for Imran Khan’s mission are unparalleled, and we salute their bravery. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has always been at the forefront for Imran Khan,” Gandapur said.

He criticized those who dismissed the deaths of PTI workers and declared, “We will not sit with those who celebrate their deaths. Such people deserve condemnation.”
