Skill enhancing programme held

\MINGORA: The University of Swat, in collaboration with the National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE), Higher Education Commission (HEC), Islamabad, organized a four-week National Outreach Programme for Higher Education Faculty (Tier-I). The programme was aimed at enhancing the professional skills of early-career faculty members from public sector universities across Pakistan, focusing on teaching and learning, applied research, and professional practices.

A total of 32 participants, including 24 assistant professors and eight lecturers, successfully completed the training, demonstrating their commitment to advancing higher education in the country. Prof Dr Ziaul Qayyum, executive director of the HEC, was the chief guest at the programme’s closing ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, he praised the University of Swat Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Hassan Sher for his visionary leadership and dedication to fostering academic excellence in the region. “Prof Dr Hassan Sher’s commitment to empowering faculty and promoting a culture of continuous learning is exemplary. The successful hosting of this programme reflects the University of Swat’s pivotal role in shaping the future of higher education in Pakistan,” he added.

Prof Dr. Ziaul Qayyum also highlighted the significance of such initiatives in bridging knowledge gaps and strengthening the academic landscape in the country.In his address, Prof. Dr. Hassan Sher extended heartfelt gratitude to key individuals who played instrumental roles in the programme’s success. He acknowledged Dr. Noor Amna Malik, Managing Director of NAHE, for her unwavering support and vision in making this initiative a reality. Special thanks were also extended to Suleman, Director of NAHE, and Nasar Shah, Regional Director of HEC Peshawar, for their guidance and assistance throughout the training.
