Accused dies in police custody

GUJRANWALA: An accused involved in a robbery case died in a police custody at Tatlewali police station.

The police had arrested the accused in a dacoity case for investigation. On Thursday morning, Nawaz was found dead in the lockup. The heirs of the accused alleged that Nawaz died due to the police torture. The CPO has asked the SHO to submit a report.

WOMAN BURNT TO DEATH: A woman was burnt to death when her house caught fire at Wazirabad.

It was told that Hameeda was sleeping in her home when the room suddenly caught fire due to a short circuit. Resultantly, Hameeda received critical burns. She was shifted to a hospital where she died.
