KOHAT: Commissioner, Kohat Division, Syed Motasim Billah Shah and other officials on Thursday called for provision of all possible facilities to temporarily displaced persons from Kurram district.
The commissioner along with other officials visited the camp in Hangu on the directions of the chief minister to review the arrangements for the displaced people. Deputy Commissioner Hangu Gohar Zaman Wazir, while briefing the commissioner, said that the district administration had established the camp with the support of Pakistan Red Crescent Society Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on the direction of the provincial government.
Despite its limited resources, he said, the district administration had ensured all kinds of basic facilities like kitchen, blankets, bed sheets and other necessary things in the 40 camps. “Water, electricity, washroom and sanitation have also been specially arranged in the camp,” he added.
Separate space had been allocated for men and women, he said, adding a medical camp has also been organized. “The district administration is in constant contact with the PDMA, NDMA, UNOCHA and other various NGOs and institutions to facilitate the affectees,” he added.The commissioner directed the Hangu administration to leave no stone unturned in serving the affectees of the Kurram district and providing them with all the basic facilities.
