ISLAMABAD: PTI Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram Wednesday announced their boycott of the All Parties Conference (APC) called by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governor.

In a statement, he contended that the PTI represented the people of the province and that the decision to boycott the APC was taken on the basis of the PPP’s silent facilitation in the massacre of unarmed and peaceful citizens.

Waqas said the decision was taken in view of the complicity of killers in exchange for political wages adding that the PPP was actively supporting the government’s nefarious agenda of banning the PTI.

He claimed that the PPP played a role in the approval of ban resolution from the Balochistan Assembly, while it was busy ‘rounding up and harassing our workers in Sindh’.

The PTI spokesman said the PPP wanted to give the impression of being pro-democracy by holding lifeless exhibition meetings. The PPP has no mandate in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he added.

He lashed out at Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar for his ‘attempts to hoodwink the foreign diplomats by spreading misinformation about the recent Islamabad ‘massacre’.

He charged that the foreign minister falsely stated that the law-enforcement agencies (LEAs) were not provided with live ammunition but equipped with water cannons, tear gas and batons despite the fact that 12 people were martyred, while dozens sustained severe injuries due to direct firing.
