ISLAMABAD: Two Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) leaders and former ticket holders Malik Amanat Rawal of PP-4 and Syed Atif Hussain Shah of PP-5 from Attock joined Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).
Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari welcomed Malik Amanat Rawal and Syed Atif Hussain Shah on joining the PPP. During the meeting Bilawal was accompanied by Punjab Governor Sardar Salim Haider. Bilawal instructed Punjab governor to organise the PPP in every district of Punjab. Sardar Saleem Haider said that the people of Pakistan will elect the Bilawal Bhutto as prime minister of Pakistan. He said that the PPP will win a clear majority in the entire Pakistan including Punjab in the upcoming general elections. “The PPP knows how to take its right at every level including Punjab,” he said. Malik Amanat Rawal contested the general elections of February 2024 for the Punjab Assembly from the constituency of PP-4 from where he secured 43685 votes from the platform of TLP against the PML-N candidate Sher Ali Khan who won the elections with securing 48593 votes while Syed Atif Hussain Shah contested the election from PP-5 from the platform of TLP and secured 41315 votes and was in third position. Sardar Faizan Haider, Malik Sher Ali Khan, Malik Asif Khan, Haji Malik Sadriyal, Haji Akhtar Ali and others were present in the meeting. Malik Noor Muhammad Rao, Sardar Ahsan Ali Khan, Malik Asghar Hanjara, Malik Rizwan Majeed, Malik Wajahat Sadaryal and Syed Mujtaba Haider were also present on the occasion. Meanwhile, PPP senior leader Nadeem Afzal Chan also held meeting with Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. The issues relating to Punjab was focused in the meeting. While, PPP AJK President Chaudhary Yasin and General Secretary Faisal Rathore called on the PPP chairman at Zardari House, Islamabad. The AJK political situation was discussed in the meeting. Former minister for Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan Affairs Qamar Zaman Kaira was also present.
