CDA engages horticultural expertsfor beautification of Islamabad

Islamabad : The work on beautification, restoration, and uplift of Saidpur Model Village, Melody Market and Srinagar will be completed with the assistance of horticultural experts from Baku (Azerbaijan) during the Spring season.

Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa and Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Khazar Farhadov held a meeting to review progress of work at three place. The meeting was attended by horticultural experts from Baku and senior officers of CDA. Randhawa said that the experts from Baku are working day and night to beautify Srinagar Highway, Melody Market, and Saidpur Village, which is commendable.

He said that focal persons should be appointed from both CDA and Baku experts to ensure the timely completion of the beautification work. The meeting was informed that the beautification work of Saidpur Village would be completed within four months. The CDA Chairman instructed architects and officers of CDA to visit Saidpur Village and provide their feedback to ensure the beautification efforts are long-lasting. It was also mentioned that steps have been taken to improve the sewerage system in Saidpur Village. The meeting decided that water experts from Baku and relevant CDA officers would propose a workable solution for the sewerage and water management at the beautified sites.

The meeting further noted that the beautification process of Melody Market will also be completed by April. The CDA Chairman said that after the beautification, these locations, especially Saidpur Village would become recreational and cultural activities. Various colourful programmes and festivals will be organized at these places during the spring season. The meeting was informed that local plants would be planted along Srinagar Highway, and its natural landscape was being further beautified.
