LAHORE:Under its anti-smog plan, the Punjab government has decided to carry out inspection of all government and private vehicles.
The decision was taken on the directions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. As per the orders, fitness certificate has been made mandatory for all vehicles across Punjab and small and large vehicles will have to obtain a certificate from the Fitness Certificate Authority. In this regard, an order has been sent to the secretaries of all provincial ministries and all commissioners across Punjab. It said the fitness certificates should be obtained for all vehicles used by all ministries and their sub-departments. The Punjab government has set a deadline of January 30, directing all ministries and departments to inspect vehicles by this date.
