LAHORE: The National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) Chairman Lt-Gen Munir Afsar represented Pakistan at TRUSTECH 2024 exhibition in Paris.
The exhibition kicked off Tuesday and will run until December 5. Pakistan Ambassador to France Asim Iftikhar visited the Nadra pavilion.
Munir Afsar provided an overview of Nadra’s technological innovations, focusing on advancements aimed at enhancing technological self-reliance, operational efficiency and expanding coverage for improved public service delivery.
On display at the pavilion are a range of indigenous biometric and identity document processing devices, including Self Service Kiosks, All-In-One Enrollment Kits, Handheld Tablets for Authentication and IRIS Cameras. Each device is designed to ensure robust and efficient identity verification. Nadra has played a pivotal role in building Pakistan’s digital public infrastructure, contributing to various sectors aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Its services encompass national identity documents, mobile banking, e-governance, health and education initiatives and social protection programmes, such as disaster relief and subsidy schemes.
Ambassador Asim Iftikhar commended Nadra’s extensive contributions to digital identity, emphasizing its role in empowering citizens and connecting people globally. Nadra Chairman and Ambassador Iftikhar met international exhibitors and exploring new opportunities for collaboration.
Trustech 2024 is expected to attract over 8,000 participants, with 200 exhibitors and 30 international partners showcasing the latest in digital identity and payment technologies. Nadra’s participation at the event underscores Pakistan’s commitment to advancing its digital infrastructure while fostering key partnerships for future growth.
