Pakistan win T20 Blind Cricket World Cup

LAHORE: Pakistan won the 4th T20 Blind Cricket World Cup defeating Bangladesh by 10 wickets at the Multan Cricket Stadium on Sunday.

This victory marks Pakistan’s first-ever T20 Blind Cricket World Cup title. They remained undefeated throughout the tournament. Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first. Bangladesh managed to score 139 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their 20 overs. Asif Hussain was the top scorer for Bangladesh with 54 runs while Mohammad Salman contributed 31.

In reply, Pakistan chased down the target with ease, reaching the required runs in just 10.2 overs without losing a single wicket. Skipper Nisar Ali played a magnificent knock of 72 runs, while Mohammad Safdar scored a quickfire 47.

During the prize distribution ceremony, Syed Sultan Shah, President of the World Blind Cricket Council, along with Raymond Moxley, Director of Global Development at WBCC, presented the winning trophy and a cash prize of 1 million rupees to Pakistan’s captain Nisar Ali.

Bangladesh captain Arif Ullah received the runners-up trophy and a cash prize of 500,000 rupees. Nisar Ali was also adjudged the Player of the Match while Bangladesh’s Asif Hussain was named the Emerging Player of the tournament.
