The Ambassador of the Czech Republic, Ladislav Stienhubel, met with Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab at the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) head office on Monday.

The two leaders discussed matters of mutual interest, focusing on enhancing relations between the two regions. Wahab warmly welcomed the ambassador and briefed him on Karachi's rich history and the ongoing development projects aimed at improving the city's infrastructure. The discussion focused on areas of mutual cooperation, including investment, energy, tourism, and training.

He emphasised Karachi's importance as Pakistan's industrial and business hub, highlighting its strategic geographical location and abundant investment opportunities. He noted that the current government was working to create a conducive environment for investors by developing industrial zones to boost exports and stabilise the national economy.

Furthermore, the mayor underscored the importance of foreign partnerships in Karachi's development. He said that such collaborations would greatly benefit the citizens of both countries, aiming to provide Karachi’s residents with facilities comparable to those in developed cities worldwide. A coordinated, systematic strategy was being implemented to achieve this goal, with full support from the provincial government.

In his remarks, Wahab invited Czech investors and experts to explore Karachi's potential, stressing that business delegations’ visits could strengthen bilateral ties and open new avenues for cooperation. Stienhubel expressed his appreciation for Karachi's role as a significant business hub and acknowledged that the city’s development would have positive effects on Pakistan as a whole.
