LAHORE:The 15th convocation of the University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences (UVAS) has been scheduled to be held on 5th December, 2024 at City Campus Lahore. Chancellor/Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan will preside over the ceremony. UVAS Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Younus chaired the meeting of conveners and secretaries of subcommittees and reviewed preparation/arrangements for the convocation. The conveners of sub-committees briefed the meeting on the working of their respective committees. Full dress rehearsal for the convocation will be arranged at City Campus tomorrow (Wednesday). Graduates of DVM, BS (Hons), Pharm-D, BBA (Hons), MBA (Executive), MPhil and PhD scholars will receive their degrees. Position winning graduates will also be awarded with medals.

Collaboration on research, education agreed

Chairman of the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) Allama Dr Raghib Naeemi, visited the University of Management and Technology (UMT) for DITC-Confluence 2024, hosted by the Department of Islamic Thought and Civilisation, where he met with the UMT President and former Provincial Minister, Ibrahim Hasan Murad.

According to a press release, during the meeting, both leaders discussed the role of Muslim leadership in addressing contemporary challenges. Murad praised the Council’s contributions to Sharia-based legislation and emphasised the need for responsible leadership.

Both leaders agreed to strengthen collaboration on research and education, focusing on actionable strategies for empowering Muslim leadership. Dr Naeemi also joined a panel on 'Challenges and Opportunities for Muslim Leadership in the Age of Technology' highlighting the need to align technological advancements with Sharia principles.
