Islamabad sit-in: Legal teams formed to secure PTI workers’ release
CHARSADDA: The lawmakers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf on Monday said that 58 workers of the PTI, who had participated in Islamabad’s sit-in from Charsadda had not yet returned home.
Members Provincial Assembly, Khalid Khan, Arshad Umarzai, Arif Ahmadzai and provincial Minister Fazal Shakoor Khan said that two workers had lost lives during the sit-in, while six others were under treatment in various hospitals due to bullet injuries. They confirmed that legal teams had been formed to secure the release of detained workers and the recovery of missing ones.
According to details, 58 workers from Charsadda left to participate in the PTI sit-in on November 24 but they had not yet returned to their respective native towns.The MPAs alleged that two workers had been killed and were laid to rest in native areas, while six workers had sustained injuries due to firing during the sit-in and were admitted to various hospitals.Similarly, 23 workers from Charsadda had been booked in cases and were in different prisons in Islamabad and Punjab, while 29 workers were still missing.
