SUKKUR: Sindhi Cultural Day was celebrated with the theme of “Defeat hatred, free Sindh from extremism” with traditional clothing, folk songs and rallies across the country.
People of Sindh presented Sindhi caps and ajraks to each other as a gesture of goodwill. Rallies were taken out across Pakistan to celebrate the day. Functions were held in schools and colleges whereas stalls were set up if different cities of the province to display traditional cultural items.
Sindh Topi and Ajrak Day was celebrated in all large and small cities including Sukkur, Khairpur, Shikarpur, Naushroferoz, Moro, Larkana, Dadu, Ghotki, Hyderabad, Mithi, Tharparkar, Ummarkot, Badin and Sanghar. Activists of nationalist and political parties including PPP, PMLN, PTI, civil society, trade unions, journalists, students, intellectuals, youths, children, girls in colorful dresses danced. The day witnessed colorful events including rallies and motorcades.
