Journalist laid to rest
BATKHELA: The funeral prayer for journalist Tahir Khan Azikhel, a correspondent for Geo News and The News International, was offered in Alla Dhand area in Batkhela.
A number of people, including local elders, journalists, and members of civil society, attended the funeral. Azikhel was laid to rest in his ancestral graveyard.Tahir Khan Azikhel, who served as general secretary of Malakand Press Club Batkhela, passed away due to cardiac arrest. He had been in journalism for over 25 years. He had worked with various newspapers and TV channels. Recently he worked for the Jang Group, contributing to The News International and Geo News.He is survived by a wife, two sons, and two daughters. His death was widely mourned by journalists and members of political and social circles in Malakand, Dir, and Swat.
