Increasing trend in prices of fruits, vegetables recorded

LAHORE:The prices of fruits, vegetables and meat are not updated on Qeemat Punjab App while the government keeps insisting consumers to register complaints on the App about overcharging and check rates from the App.

The price lists of Sunday were not updated on the App. This is not the only issue with Qeemat Punjab App. A number of complaints mentioned on the social media accounts of the Deputy Commissioner Lahore are not resolved.

Qeemat App Punjab shows the rates of 14 items and misses some of the major items while the rate lists issued by the market committee with the duly signed by the representative of deputy commissioner office has more items. The Qeemat App Punjab didn’t show the rates of Kinow, fruiter which are now the seasonal fruits and being sold at everywhere in the provincial metropolis. Similarly, papaya, melon, grape fruit, Waternut, corn, and different variety of pomegranate rates are missing on the App.

Similarly, the rates of the number of vegetables and various varieties of some of the vegetables are also not issued on the Qeemat Punjab App. In such scenario, one can understand the seriousness of the government to control overcharging.

The Deputy Commissioner was approached to get his version, however no response was received till the filling of this report. This week mainly increasing trend in the prices of perishable was recorded as majority of vegetable rates remained high, besides overcharging by the sellers.

The price of chicken remained unchanged this week, fixed at Rs314-328 per kg, sold at Rs400-430 per kg and chicken meat by Rs22 per kg, fixed at Rs475 per kg, and sold Rs500-800 per kg.

The price of potato soft skin A-grade was declined by Rs40 per kg, fixed at Rs90-95 per kg, sold at Rs140-160 per kg, B-grade at Rs75-80 per kg and C-grade at Rs65-70 per kg, mixed sold at Rs120-130 per kg, potato sugar mixed were sold at 100 per kg.

The price of onion A-grade unchanged at Rs135-145 per kg, sold at Rs180-200 per kg, B-grade at Rs117-125 per kg, and C-grade gained by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs104-110 per kg, mixed sold at Rs140-150 per kg.

The price of tomato A-grade reduced by Rs40 per kg, fixed at Rs130-140 per kg, sold at Rs250-300 per kg, B-grade fixed at Rs113-120 per kg, and C-grade at Rs100-105 kg, mixed sold at Rs200 per kg.

The price of both Ginger Thai and Chinese was further reduced by Rs65 per kg, fixed at Rs390-410 per kg, both sold at Rs500-700 per kg. The price Spinach gained by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs37-40 at Rs60-80 per kg. The price of different variety of apples fixed at Rs95-235 per kg, sold at Rs150-450 per kg.

The price of Banana A-category increased by Rs5 per dozen, fixed at Rs120-125 per dozen, sold at Rs160-180 per dozen, and B-category fixed at Rs76-80 per dozen, sold at Rs130-140 per dozen, and C-category at Rs57-60 per dozen, sold at Rs100-120 per dozen.

Pomegranate danaydar increased by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs325-340 per kg, sold at Rs450-500 per kg, pomegranate kandahari gained by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs195-300 per kg, sold at Rs250-400, pomegranate Bedana by Rs40 per kg, fixed at Rs530-550 per kg, sold at Rs800-1000 per kg. Dates were unchanged at Rs420-430 per kg, sold at Rs600 to 1400 per kg. Papaya reduced by Rs25 per kg, fixed at Rs210-220 per kg, sold at Rs250-300 per kg. Grapes Sunderkhani further gained by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs315-330 per kg, sold at Rs400-500 per kg, grapes gola by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs172-180 per kg, sold at Rs250-300 per kg, grapes tofi by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs250-260, sold at Rs400-500 per kg.
