In any democracy, protests are a normal and important way for people to express their concerns. Yet in Pakistan, the government – especially the interior ministry – seems determined to treat protests as a threat.
Using power to crush protests will only deepen divides. It is not just unfair but counterproductive. Dialogue, compromise, and respect for public opinion is the only way forward.
