BAHAWALPUR: The Environment Department organised a walk to create awareness among the people regarding multi-faceted impacts on biodiversity and echo system.
The walk began from Farid Gate and culminated at Quaid-e-Azam Medical College. Community Development EDO Aftab Pirzada, Health EDO Dr Shahid Khaliq, Environment District Officer Aamir Irshad Rehmani and others participated in the walk.
SUBSIDIES FOR FARMERS: National Assembly Standing Committee on Information and Broadcasting member MNA Begum Perveen Masood Bhatti has said that huge subsidies have been provided to the farmers in the budget.
In a statement here on Sunday, she hoped that the subsidies would bring economic comfort for millions of peasants in the country.
CRACKDOWN ON BROTHELS: On the order of Regional Police Officer Dr Ahsan Sadiq, the CIA staff led by DSP Mian Arshad launched a crackdown on brothels in Bahawalnagar on Sunday. The CIA raided two brothels at Farooqabad and arrested six women and two men from there. Four women and a man were arrested from a brothel at Hussainabad.
