ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday directed authorities to submit a report on the registered cases against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Salman Akram Raja in Punjab and Islamabad.
The court also barred authorities from arresting the petitioner until further orders.Chief Justice Aamer Farooq presided over the hearing of the petition filed by Salman Akram Raja, who sought details of the cases registered against him. During the proceedings, the petitioner claimed that Punjab police had attempted to arrest him in Lahore.
Raja’s lawyer argued that his client had faced a risk of arrest in undisclosed cases and requested the court to restrain authorities from detaining him. He also sought directives for the provision of complete details of the cases.
In response, the court issued notices to the relevant respondents and sought the details. The hearing was adjourned until next week.
