Man held for ‘assaulting’ 13-year-old girl

MANSEHRA: The Balakot police claimed to have arrested a man for allegedly sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl with the help of a woman and made footage of the episode with the help of a cameraman.

“We have arrested a man, who raped a minor girl and filmed the entire gruesome incident,” Deputy Superintendent of Police Tanveer Khan told reporters in Balakot here on Friday.Flanked by SHO Paras Police Station, Tasawar Hussain Shah, he said that the incident had taken place in the Joshal Jol forests. The DSP said that the victim was grazing her herd in the forest when, according to her statement, the suspected woman took her forcibly to the accused.

“Though the girl put up resistance, both suspects tortured and overpowered her and a cameraman identified as Sadder Mula, filmed the entire incident,” Khan said.The DSP said the main accused, Fazeel Jalal, and his woman accomplice threatened the girl with dire consequences if she disclosed the incident to her family or police.

“The family of the survivor approached the police for registration of the FIR after the video went viral on social media,” Khan said.The DSP said that a medical report carried out by doctors in the Rural Health Centre in Kawai confirmed the assault. He said that the police party raided a house in Nullah Joshal and arrested Fazeel Jalal.

“A police party carried out raids to arrest the woman and cameraman,” he added.The police lodged the first information report under sections 376/506/114 of the Pakistan Penal Code and Section 53 of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Child Protection and Welfare Act 2010.
