PPP changes venue of Foundation Day public meeting
The upcoming public meeting of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) to mark its 57th Foundation Day on November 30 will now be held at the Railway Ground near Kala Pul instead of Nishtar Park.
This was announced by Sindh Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani on Thursday in his capacity as the Karachi PPP president. Ghani also inspected the new venue of the public meeting. He told the PPP office-bearers and workers that the venue of the public meeting had been changed due to some unavoidable reasons.
The local government minister said the preparations for the public meeting had begun in full swing at the new venue. The PPP chairman would address the participants of the public meeting via video link, he said.
He mentioned that the PPP in the last 57 years had fully believed in serving the public without any discrimination based on colour or ethnicity. Sindh PPP General Secretary Waqar Mehdi said PPP leaders Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto had laid down their lives for the cause of restoration of genuine democracy and serving the masses of the country.
He said the sacrifices rendered by the PPP leaders had strengthened the democracy and ensured freedom of speech for the masses in the country. Karachi PPP General Secretary Jawed Nagori said that PPP would hold a historic public meeting at the venue of Railway Ground to mark its foundation day.
