Pakistan demolish Bangladesh 6-0
KARACHI: Pakistan continued their successful journey in the Junior Asia Cup 2024 in Oman, Muscat, when they defeated Bangladesh by 6-0 in their second match on Thursday.
Penalty corner specialist Sufyan Khan was the hero of the match who scored three goals. Pakistan defeated China by 7-2 in its first match in the Junior Asia Cup, Sufyan scored 2 two goals against China and after scoring a hat trick against Bangladesh he has scored 5 goals I two match.
The other three goals were scored by forwards Rana Waleed, Muhamad Ammad and Zakariya Hayat. Pakistani forwards failed to score any goal in the first quarter despite several attempts. Bangladeshi forwards tried their best but they failed to score any goal against Greenshirts.
The manager of Pakistan junior hockey team Ajmal Khan Lodhi, when contacted, said Pakistan are playing well and getting confident after each match. He said that forwards failed to score any goal in the first quarter but later they played well and frequently attacked the Bangladesh goal post. He said that players are still missing goal-scoring chances due to inexperience “but they will improve gradually”. Lodhi said that in the first two matches “we have played all 18 members of the team so that they learn”.
