LAKKI MARWAT: Over 500 ornamental and flower plants were distributed here under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister’s public service agenda to carry out plantation activities along roadsides and in the urban and rural areas.
The municipal authorities received seedlings from Deputy Commissioner Zeeshan Abdullah at a ceremony held at the District Headquarters Complex Tajazai on Thursday. Assistant Commissioner Yasir Nazir, SDFO Naqibullah Khan, tehsil officer regulations Rafiullah Khan and Sanitary Inspector Khalid Khan were also present.
The forest department had arranged the plants for the Lakki Marwat and Ghaznikhel tehsil municipal bodies on the request of district administration.The deputy commissioner asked the officials of municipal administrations to sow seedlings along roadsides and on conspicuous places in their respective areas.
He said that the tree plantation activities would add to the beautification of roads besides providing the citizens with a clean, green and healthy environment.He said that more plants would be provided to the municipal bodies, educational institutions and other government departments. He said that his administration would establish green belts in Lakki city and other major towns of the district.
