QUETTA: Turbat police have registered an FIR against the central organizer of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee, Dr. Mahrang Baloch, President Makran High Court Bar Association Mehrab Khan Gichki and other senior lawyers for violating Section 144 and forcing closure of shops.
Police said the booked leaders and BYC workers gathered at the main Turbat Chowk. Before holding seminar on the missing persons, the leaders made provocative speeches against the government and forcibly shut down the shop and bazaars in violation of Session 144, police claimed.
According to FIR the cases were registered against Dr. Mahrang Baloch, Mullah Mansoor and others under 341, 188, 186, 506, 5027 and 147 of the Pakistan Penal Code. However, no one has been arrested so far.
The members of Kech Bar Association and Makran High Court Bar Association started a protest in front of Turbat Police station and offered police their arrest. However, police refused to arrest any lawyer on the occasion. The lawyers boycotted the court proceedings on Wednesday, saying the boycott would also continue till Friday.
