Ayaz Sadiq expresses admiration for inter-faith harmony and peaceful coexistence of multiple faiths in Russia

ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly (NA) Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, who is undertaking an official visit to Moscow on the invitation of his Russian counterpart, held a meeting with the Deputy Chairman of the Russian Council of Muftis Damir Mukhetdinov at the Moscow Cathedral Mosque on Wednesday.

The NA Speaker, while highlighting the positive momentum in Pakistan-Russian relations, appreciated Russia’s growing relations with the Muslim world. He welcomed Russia’s stance on Islamophobia and President Putin’s statement on respect for holy religious personalities.

Ayaz Sadiq expressed admiration for inter-faith harmony and peaceful coexistence of multiple faiths in Russia. The two sides expressed solidarity regarding Palestine issue, with the people of Palestinian. Both sides agreed to continue cooperation in the religio-cultural sphere.

Earlier the NA Speaker laid a wreath at the tomb of the unknown soldier in the Alexander Garden, near the Kremlin wall, in Moscow, to pay tribute to the fallen heroes of World War II. He was joined by Vasily Piskarev, the Chairman of the State Duma’s Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption.

The NA Speaker, along with the delegation of parliamentarians, is currently visiting the Russian Federation at the invitation of the Chairman of the Duma, Vyacheslav Volodin.
