PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi on Wednesday criticized the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for creating a law and order situation in Islamabad and said restoration of peace in KP was more important than any other issue.

“I am going to Kurram tomorrow and I invite the chief minister to jointly find solution to this serious issue by visiting the people there,” the governor told a press conference on arrival from Umrah.

A large number of people have lost lives in clashes after barbaric attack on passenger coaches in Kurram few days back. The governor told the media that over 150 people have lost lives and hundreds of others have been displaced in Kurram since October but neither the chief minister nor any other leader visited the troubled district.

He said the Provincial Disaster Management Authority had nothing to provide when it was approached to help the affected people in Kurram.

The governor also invited the chief minister to the all-parties conference (APC) over the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa law and order situation. The APC is to be held at the Governor’s House in the first week of December.

The governor said the province was facing the tough challenge of law and order while the chief minister and his party were busy in “burning Islamabad”. He said the government’s resources were being used indiscriminately against the state in Islamabad for the release ofPTI’s founding chairman.

The governor said the government officials took along hundreds of police personnel in civvies to the Islamabad march. A few days before the march, the chief secretary and the inspector general of police had banned the cops from participating in any political activity, especially out of the province. The cops were warned of action if they were found participating any such activity.

Kundi said the chief minister Gandapur and Bushra Bibi escaped from the protest on Tuesday night, leaving behind poor workers in the federal capital. “How did Gandapur manage to escape for the third time? Is this a fixed match?” he questioned. He said except for a few leaders from Punjab, the rest of the protesters were from KP.Kundi as well as Gandapur both belong to the Dera Ismail Khan district which has been witnessing the worst law and order situation for the last few years.
