Islamabad: After suspending in-person learning for three days, all government and private schools and colleges in Islamabad and Rawalpindi will reopen today (Thursday) due to the removal of road blockades following the dispersal of a protest by the Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf.
The announcement of the schools’ reopening was made by interior minister Mohsin Naqvi after a crackdown by authorities forced PTI protesters into running away from Red Zone.
“Schools will resume from tomorrow (Thursday), and mobile internet services will be restored by Wednesday morning,” Naqvi declared.
Schools in the twin cities were closed on Saturday due to the PTI's planned protest on November 24.
Most remained closed, while the others opted for online classes.
Some schools announced Saturday as a regular day for students to compensate for learning losses.
