LAHORE:The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore has launched multiple raids to arrest a former Senator. Sources claim that the senator was accused of embezzling Rs6 billion through a housing society.
After his bail plea was rejected by the accountability court, NAB decided to apprehend him. However, the former senator escaped the court premises with the assistance of his legal team. NAB teams are conducting operations across various locations and are confident of his imminent arrest.
In a parallel development, NAB has completed the verification process for 2,400 victims of a housing scheme on Ferozepur Road. The bureau is finalising its investigation to file a reference in court, sources revealed. A petition was submitted to cancel the bail of the scheme’s owner. Furthermore, the administration has sought court approval to sell seized properties to compensate the victims. NAB is also coordinating with the LDA Director General to address complaints of delays in construction work within developed blocks of the housing project, sources added.
