Pakistan crush China 7-2 in Junior Asia Cup

Karachi: Pakistan Juniors easily defeated China by 7 goals to 2 in its first match of the Men’s Junior Asia Hockey Cup 2024 held in Oman, Muscat.

Forward Fayyaz Hamza opened Pakistan’s account when he scored first goal in 17th minute. Pakistani forwards continued attacking resulting in 2nd goal when penalty corner specialist Sufyan Khan scored 2nd goal in 22nd minute. A minute later Pakistan junior hockey team netted third goal when Fayyaz Hamza scored in the 23rd minute.

Pakistan scored 4th goal through Muhammad Imad in the 43rd minute, 5th goal through Rana Waleed in the 46th minute, sixth goal through Muhammad Sufyan Khan in the 50th minute on a penalty corner, and the 7th goal by Muhammad Mughira in the 51st minute.

The first goal for China was scored by Yanyu in the 24th minute, and the second goal was scored by Yubo in the last minute of the game.

The manager Pakistan Junior hockey team Ajmal Khan Lodhi, when contacted in Oman, Muscat, after the match against China, expressed his satisfaction on the overall performance of Pakistan team but was not satisfied on the goal ratio on PCs as Pakistan got 6 PCs but scored 2 goals. The manager said that forwards played well, scored many goals through attacking game, and also got a number of PCs.
