RAWALPINDI: Judge Amjad Ali Shah of the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC), Rawalpindi, has approved a 6-day physical remand of PTI founder Imran Khan for inciting public to violence during the PTI protest call on September 28.
The extension of physical remand of the accused was obtained by the police from ATC Judge Amjad Ali Shah. A case has been registered against the accused in New Town Rawalpindi Police Station for giving a protest call on September 28. Imran Khan is accused of inciting workers for violent protests. The ATC judge has directed the police to produce Imran Khan in the court on December 2, 2024.
Earlier, the prosecutor told the court that accused Imran Khan was creating hurdles in interrogation of the case. The prosecutor contended that Imran refused to join the investigation, while police have collected evidence regarding the protest call.
Zaheer Shah, the public prosecutor, said the records of meetings with PTI founder in jail have also been taken into custody. The public prosecutor told the court that letters have been sent to Pemra, FIA and PID for further evidence on the basis that the PTI founder refused to record the statement. The PTI lawyers opposed further remand but the court approved a 6-day physical remand.
