City police chief told to ensure security during Urdu Conference
Sindh Chief Secretary Syed Asif Hyder Shah on Tuesday directed the Karachi police chief to ensure stringent security measures during the Arts Council’s 17th Aalmi Urdu Conference from December 5 to December 8.
The CS chaired a meeting to discuss security arrangements for the Urdu Conference. Karachi Arts Council President Muhammad Ahmed Shah appreciated the CS for the successful security arrangements for the council’s World Culture Festival.
He thanked the provincial government for its continuous support, and hoped for even better arrangements this time. He said people from the US, Europe, Japan and the Middle East would participate in the Urdu Conference, while a significant number of individuals from India are also keen on attending the event.
The CS directed the city police chief to ensure stringent security measures during the Urdu Conference. He also instructed the traffic police chief to maintain smooth traffic flow in the city.
